general status update

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

so its been a tumultuous two weeks for us, HD failures, tons of un-avoidable distractions, but miraculously we have made a whirlwind of progress on our newest application (i apologize for the never ending delays). just wanted to give everyone a heads up on our current status. The events of the week and the shift of focus to the holden project is the reason there was no weekly hawkeye update(s).

as i probably stated prior the groundwork of project holden is really going to change the dynamic of our application development process. Its much more modular, thus making it much easier for us to update and re-use content in future projects. Since project holden and hawkeye occupy a similiar vein (thats the only spoiler for now) its going to be helpful for when we re-vamp the new version of hawkeye. Once holden is finalized, tested and released hawkeye 1.1 should follow very shortly.

sorry for the secrecy and the ambiguous nature of this post, we promise everyone’s patience will not go un-rewarded.

1.0.9v10 released!

Friday, October 13th, 2006

no more disc image creation in the application, we burn straight from the VIDEO_TS now. takes out time and space needed to author a DVD. we also (long overdue) added a Burn DVD… option to the advanced menu. Now an ISO or VIDEO_TS can be burnt in that menu without authoring in hawkeye first (for VIDEO_TS that have already been created in hawkeye or elsewhere). Fixed other minor glitches and one major glitch. DV exporting from DVD or files has been fixed on Intel side (again) sorry about the long wait on the fix for that one folks.

i hope to be posting more information on the next upcoming project which will hereafter be referred to as “codename: holden project”… VERY soon.

1.09v9 released yesterday

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

forgot to post in here sorry, 1.0.9v9 was released yesterday. In addition to those changes we also fixed the audio scan bug where every audio was reported as LPCM. We also have some rudimentary support for aspect ratios that aren’t 16:9 and 4:3. Adding black bars to maintain the aspect.

and one of the biggest requests we’ve had for a while has finally been implemented. seamless integration of 4:3 and 16:9 videos on the same dvd.

bug fixes / new release comming..

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

so some really nice bug fixes in the latest version. Importing from the DVD to different formats (iPod/PSP, PAL/NTSC, DV, SVCD, AVI/MPEG-4) should all choose the proper audio. if more than one audio is selected (which is the default) then the first audio selected will be the audio used. some other bug fixes here and there too… 1.0.9v9 should be out later today. For iPod/PSP and AVI/MPEG-4, the first subtitle selected will be “burned in” to the video. giving some rudimentary support for subtitles outside of retaining subtitles that exist when mixing DVDs
